West Rockingham Food Pantry will have a Board meeting on Monday, Nov. 2, at 7:00 p.m. at Cooks Creek. All members of participating churches are invited/encouraged to attend the discussion and to learn about the food pantry first hand. Let’s maintain enthusiasm for this very worthwhile mission since the number we serve is increasing.

Learning About Boundaries, a six-session course led by Dr. Kathryn Moats, meets at FLRC Tuesdays from 6:30-8 pm starting Oct. 27. Cost is $80 plus required text, Boundary Power.

Hear the harmonious sounds of men’s voices at the 8th annual Festival of Praise, Sunday, Nov. 1, 4:00 p.m., Eastern Mennonite School auditorium, 801 Parkwood Drive, Harrisonburg. Various groups will sing, and then join a mass chorus led by Jay Hartzler. The offering will benefit earthquake disaster relief in L’Aquila, Italy in cooperation with Swiss and Italian Mennonites, and supported by Virginia Mennonite Missions.

Positive Parenting, led by Harvey Yoder, meets for five Mondays, 7-8:30 pm, beginning November 2. Cost is $40 per person ($70 for two persons from the same household). Text, Common Sense Parenting, is $10. Contact services@flrc.org or 896-8450 to register.

EMUs Spiritual Life Week is Monday, November 2 - Friday, November 6. The speakers will be Tom and Christine Sine, members of Mustard Seed Associates, who try to help everyone from college students to mission executives get ready to serve God in our rapidly changing new global neighborhood. The way they do this is by enabling people to both identify some of the new challenges rushing at us from the future and imagine new ways to respond to these challenges. Gerald Derstine is returning for a Weekend of Renewal, sponsored by New Beginnings Church, 101 Pike Church Road, Harrisonburg, on Saturday, Oct. 31, 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 1, 10:00 a.m. & 7:00 p.m. Derstine was in the Valley twice: in 1979 and 1984. We held Valley-wide crusades sponsored by local churches. A former pastor of Strawberry Lake Mennonite Church, he is a prominent evangelist, church planter, missionary to the nations, and has authored more than a dozen books. He hosts a daily television show called, "Gerald Derstine Shares." He serves as Chairman of the Board of Gospel Crusade, Inc. Under this ministry, he has established four Christian Retreat Centers--Strawberry Lake Christian Retreat on White Earth Indian Reservation near Detroit Lakes, MN; Christian Retreat, Bradenton, FL; North Country Christian Retreat in New York; and Mideast Christian Retreat (Road Angel), along Interstate 70 in Illinois. He will speak to the Businessmen's Fellowship on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 6:30 p.m. at Pano's Restaurant. (Reservations are required for this one.)
